You may have already heard that the funnylady has been developing Happily Divorced, a TV Land sitcom based on her life with ex-husband Peter Marc Jacobson, who revealed he was gay when they divorced after 21 years of marriage.

While the cable network announced earlier this week that Drescher would only write and produce the series, a source now tells me that Drescher has "agreed to star in it, too."

Jacobson and Drescher are not only best friends but business partners, too. Jacobson, The Nanny's cocreator, is a producer of Drescher's talk show and Happily Divorced.

No word yet on who will play Drescher's ex-hubby on the show.

Drescher will also soon be reuniting with former Nanny costar Charles Shaughnessey (aka Mr. Sheffield) who will be a guest on the Dec. 6 episode of her Fran Drescher Tawk Show.

Now we want to hear from you. Excited Drescher is returning to her comedy sitcom roots? Sound off below.
