Unlike Lindsay Lohan, Demi Lovato and Britney Spears, Gomez seems to have avoided the pitfalls of Disney fame and fortune.
How has the 18-year-old Wizards of Waverly Place princess stayed on the right side of the Magic Kingdom tracks? Could there be skeletons in her closet just itchin' to get out, too?

"It's surprising that someone so young and so talented and so successful could be so down to earth," Wizards costar Maria Canals-Barrera told me this summer. "But she's just a sweetheart. She's very grateful. Very humble."
In other words, Gomez is no diva. While stories about Lovato's alleged bad behavior seems to have caught the public by surprise, sources close to Gomez insist we'll never hear the same about her.
"Is she perfect? Of course not," one friend says. "But she really is just a good person."
Even so, it's not like Gomez hasn't had her share of celebrity tabloid headlines. She dated Nick Jonas. A friendship with Taylor Lautner was scrutinized for weeks for any signs of a real romance. Heck, even her friendship with Lovato has had its ups and downs. (Lovato recently said they are still good friends.)
She's just as busy and famous as the rest of Disney's stable of megastars, too. The new season of Wizards premieres Nov. 12. She'll shoot another Wizards movie in the spring followed by a summer music tour supporting her band Selena Gomez & the Scene's second album, A Year Without Rain. Oh, and in February, she'll be on a promotional blitz for Monte Carlo, a romantic comedy costarring Cory Monteith, Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy.
So what gives? How has Gomez avoided trouble? There's no one reason. "She has great parents," the pal said. "She has good friends. She really does care about the fans and what they think."
It was a little over two years ago that Gomez's star started to climb after Disney darling Miley Cyrus' wholesome image took a major hit because of the now infamous Vanity Fair photo.
"It's really scary," Gomez told me back then about the increased attention on her day-to-day life. "It's really scary to think about that, but I think for me I know the kind of person I am and my family and friends know the kind of person I am…Sometimes you can get caught up in the media but I've just learned to not let it bother me."
So far, so good.
