Leighton Meester's role as a pyscho college coed in The Roommate is a far cry from her Gossip Girl character Blair Waldorf

And if you think that only 21-year-old females recognize her as Blair, think again.

One day after shooting a scene on the movie, Leighton drove home covered in (fake) blood and guts, and got pulled over by the police in Los Angeles. It wasn't pretty, as she explains:

"There's a final scene where we have a little catfight...well, not little," Leighton corrected herself at a special screening of The Roommate at Soho House, "So I'm a little battered. I was on my way home and I was on the freeway and I was going a little fast and I got pulled over."

"As I was getting pulled over, I was like 'I knew this was going to happen. I should have washed this off'," she said, "I was just in a rush to get home. They thought it was real and they took me out of the car and did a little sobriety test to make sure I was okay. And they said I wasn't, which was funny, because I really wasn't. I was totally deranged from the movie."

Then, the cops wanted to know when they could watch the movie she was supposedly all bloody from. "Then they were like 'Well when does the movie come out? When can we see it? And...aren't you on that show Gossip Girl?'" Leighton laughed.

You know you're doing something right when male Los Angeles police officers know your Upper East Side character, right?
