Forget politics, Al Gore is all about the red carpet!

Okay, maybe not.

But earlier this year, the former vice president popped up at the Grammys as a presenter with Queen Latifah (above). Not long after that, he was on the Oscar stage as part of the winning team for his global-warming documentary An Inconvenient Truth.

Now, I hear Gore is expected to be at the Primetime Emmy Awards on Sept. 16. He has good reason to attend. Current TV, the cable television network Gore launched with business man Joel Hyatt about two years ago, is up for an Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Television Emmy.

Does this mean if Current wins, Gore will be the one onstage making the acceptance speech? His peeps aren’t saying.

Gore’s spokesperson referred us to a rep for Current. While the rep said they’re “delighted to be finalists,” he declined to confirm if Gore would be attending, nor would he reveal who has been chosen to deliver the acceptance speech if Current wins.

Current is up against MLB Mosaic, Bravo Media, DisneyChannel.com Broadband Video Player and BIAP Fantasy Football Television Tracker.
