Nothing like a proposal to take the edge off of getting blown up in your hit show's season finale.

Ali Larter and longtime beau Hayes MacArthur got engaged over the weekend, the actress' rep confirmed Monday to E! News, noting that the aisle-bound pair are "thrilled."

No date has yet been set for what will be the first marriage for both. They have been dating for close to two and a half years.

But apparently Larter had been ready for MacArthur to pop the question for some time. She said in Cosmopolitan's October issue that she knew that her latest relationship was the real deal.

"I told my boyfriend after three weeks that I wanted to marry him and that we could do it tomorrow," Larter said. "Now that I'm actually in love, I know that what came before wasn't real. It's about being there for each other through the ups and downs of life."

The 31-year-old New Jersey native has been starring as the multiple-personalitied Niki on Heroes, but her full-time run on the NBC series seemingly ended a few weeks ago after her character was trapped in a burning building while saving a fellow hero.

Series creator Tim Kring has declined to say whether Niki will be back when Heroes resumes production.

Larter's big-screen credits include Final Destination, House on Haunted Hill, Legally Blonde, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Resident Evil: Extinction.

MacArthur has had guest roles on Medium and How I Met Your Mother and most recently appeared in The Game Plan, which starred Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as a football star who finds out he has an eight-year-old daughter.
