She's not desperate and unlikely to be a housewife anytime in the near future, but Eva Longoria is a bride-to-be.

The actress confirmed exclusively to E!'s own Ryan Seacrest that she had accepted a "perfect, personal and sweet" proposal from her boyfriend, San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker.

"I always promised you that you would hear it first, and here we are...I wanted to tell you that Tony and I are engaged," Longoria said in an early-morning phone call to Seacrest, a longtime friend of the couple. (For an exclusive clip, check out The Vine.)

Longoria said Parker surprised her by grabbing a late flight to Los Angeles Wednesday, after the Spurs played the Utah Jazz. When she returned home from work around midnight, he was there waiting for her, surrounded by candles and rose petals.

Unlike some of her fellow celebrity brides, Longoria vowed that her nuptials would not be shrouded by secrecy.

"You know, Ryan, we aren't going to be crazy hush-hush about this and be dramatic trying to protect it, because we are so excited," she said. "It's going to be huge and beautiful, and we just can't wait."

The Desperate Housewives star, 31, and Parker, 24, met in November 2004, and began dating in January 2005.

Though they endured a brief rough patch in September, their romance bounced back shortly thereafter, with Longoria traveling to Parker's native France in October to watch him play in exhibition games.

The twosome are planning a summer wedding. It will be the second trip down the aisle for Longoria, who was previously wed to General Hospital star Tyler Christopher, and the first for Parker.
