Billy Joel and his new bride, Katie Lee, got into a married state of mind over the weekend.

The Piano Man, 55, swapped vows with Lee, 23, at his Long Island estate Saturday with throngs of friends and family?including Joel's ex-wife, Christie Brinkley?looking on.

It's the third time down the aisle for Joel and the first for Lee, a recent college grad and restaurant correspondent for the PBS show, George Hirsch: Living it Up!

The duo got engaged this past winter while on vacation on the Caribbean island of St. Bart's, where Joel gifted his fiancé with a five-carat sparkler. They first began dating in spring 2003.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's no stranger to wedded bliss?or matrimonial strife, for that matter.

His first marriage was to his business manager, Elizabeth Weber, in 1971. The pair split in 1982 and Joel went on to wed supermodel Brinkley in 1985. Their union produced daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, in 1986, but ended in divorce in 1994.

Brinkley, who's remarried twice since her divorce from Joel, gave the couple her blessing as she arrived at the ceremony.

"Congratulations to Billy and Katie," Brinkley said, per Newsday. "We wish you every happiness."

Alexa Joel, 18, served as maid of honor at her father's wedding, clad in Oscar de la Renta. The bride also wore Oscar de la Renta, while the groom chose Ralph Lauren, according to Joel's publicist.

The multi-Grammy-winning Joel was honored last month with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame placed outside of the Pantages Theater, where Movin' Out, the Tony Award-winning musical based on his songs, is playing.

Joel has sold more than 100 million records worldwide over the span of his career, and has charted numerous hit singles. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.

The newlywed entertainer has proved that he can produce more than a good tune?he's signed a major publishing contract with Scholastic to write two children's books.

The first, Goodnight My Angel: A Lullabye, based on the song he wrote for his daughter, is due to hit shelves later this month. His second book, to be based on the song "New York State of Mind," is tentatively due out in fall 2005, according to his Website, billyjoel.com.

The past few years have been fairly tumultuous for the "She's Always a Woman" singer, who's survived a string of car accidents and also done a stint in rehab.

Now that Joel has a new Uptown Girl riding shotgun, let's hope life will be a smoother ride.
