The Brian Bonsall mess keeps getting messier.

An arrest warrant was issued today for Bonsall after the former Family Ties star failed to show for a court hearing on alleged probation violations, Colorado's Boulder District Attorney Office said.

Bond was set at $2,500, D.A. spokeswoman Carolyn French said.

Calls to Bonsall's defense attorney were not immediately returned.

Bonsall, 26, is accused of failing to make good on the terms of his 2007 guilty plea in a third-degree assault case involving a girlfriend.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera, the county probation department is alleging Bonsall flunked a Breathalyzer test, skipped out on a urine test and failed to fork over payment for required domestic-violence classes.

Best known as Andy, the youngest member of Family Ties' Keaton clan, Bonsall also starred in the Disney movie Blank Check and appeared as Worf's son in several episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. His last Hollywood credit, however, was a generation ago, in 1994.

Post-Hollywood, Bonsall moved to Boulder, where he's played in a punk band, but more notably, been in and out of trouble for everything from suspected DUI to disorderly conduct.

The assault case, which dates back to March 2007, was the most notorious. Among other things, Bonsall was accused of pouring alcohol on his sleeping girlfriend and of putting her in a choke hold.

Last September, Bonsall was placed on two years' probation as part of the plea agreement in that case.
