Talk about your bad trips!
Long before they ever traded opinions on American Idol, Paula Abdul opened her L.A. home to Kara DioGuardi when the songwriter needed a place to stay. And so, DioGuardi took up residence at Casa Abdul for a while—minus the time she spent in the hospital, that is!
The story goes that, while she was playing houseguest, DioGuardi overindulged in a batch of brownies that looked normal and, six hours later, was in dire need of an ambulance ride.

So true!
Or as true as far as Kara knows, because she never did find out what she ingested that night.
"There were these little nuggets, little, you know, take six, not a lot," DioGuardi recalled Wednesday during a sit-down on Lopez Tonight. "Six hours later I was like, 'Hey, what's goin' on?'
"I fell out of bed, on the floor, I stumbled downstairs and I was like, 'I ate too much.' And the ambulance comes and is like, 'This bitch is as high as a kite!'"
DioGuardi said that she spent three days in the hospital on IV fluids, being treated for dehydration and hallucinations.
For the record, Abdul was out of town at the time and, her pal says, the brownies had been left over from a party and did not belong to the host.
Well, at least we know where all the rockin' X Factor afterparties are going to be this year.
