Time to throw a hat in the air!

A rep for Mary Tyler Moore tells E! News that the TV icon is "recovering nicely" after undergoing surgery to remove a tumor from the lining of her skull.

If that sounds like a lengthy procedure...that's because it was.

"Mary Tyler Moore underwent a four hour procedure to remove a benign tumor of the covering of the skull," read her rep's official statement. "The tumor was resected in its entirety and she will require no additional treatment. According to her surgeon, she tolerated the procedure without difficulty and is recovering nicely with her husband at her bedside."

Moore's neurologist described the meningioma removal as a routine procedure—and, as it turns out, an elective one, with the 74-year-old actress choosing to have the surgery now after her doctors had been monitoring the growth for years.
