The man who accosted the couple and tossed water in the face Cy Waits outside the Los Angeles courthouse pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery and has been sentenced to 227 days in jail.
The couple were walking into a Van Nuys courthouse to testify against an alleged home intruder, when James Rainford approached the duo.
He was quickly tackled by security and turned over to the police. He told the assembled media that he was just tyring to propose to Paris.
City attorney's spokesman Frank Mateljan says Rainford entered the plea during a court appearance earlier today, and was immediately sentenced.
In addition to the 227 days in a county lockup, Rainford was given three years of informal probation and ordered to stay away from Waits and Hilton after his release.
