After months of being submersed in a custody battle with her ex Gabriel Aubry over their 3-year-old daughter, Nahla, Halle Berry reveals her recent baby-daddy drama seems to be a lot less, well, dramatic now.

"When there's a child involved, it's a relief when you can resolve things in a good way," Berry tells Extra. "Our issues were never about fighting for her. We both know a child needs both her parents."

The Oscar winner, however, didn't go into specifics regarding any agreements that have been reached between her and Aubry.

"What I want to say about it is sometimes, as a couple, you reach an impasse," she explains. "We needed a court and a judge to help us work out some of the delicate issues, and I'm so happy we've arrived at that place—because for her sake, this is the best way."

But while Berry claims things are going smoothly, she recently backed out of starring in the upcoming Broadway production of The Mountaintop because of "child custody issues," according to a statement by the show's producers. Although, People reports that a source close to the actress tells the mag it merely came down to "a conflict of work."

Despite the spin, Berry and Aubry still haven't finalized a custody deal. The two are due back in an L.A. courtroom today to try yet again to hammer out an arrangement.

Either way, we're just glad to hear Berry share this last little sentiment. After all, when it's all said and done, Nahla should always be what matters most.

"We both love her more than life," she insists.
