This is one instance in which we hope it isn't like mother, like daughter. Or like father, like daughter, for that matter.

Yesterday, the celebrity spawn-watching world released a collective sigh of concern for Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown's daughter Bobbi Kristina, after a National Enquirer spread made the rounds showing the teenager snorting a white powdery substance that certainly looked to the untrained eye (and nose) like cocaine.

Further boding unwell for the music scion was that no one from the Houston or Brown camp released a comment on either the photo or accompanying tabloid cover story that alleged the 18-year-old was "Addicted to Cocaine!"

Until now.

Surprisingly, it was neither of her famous parents that sprang to her defense, instead Bobbi Kristina herself who sought to set the record straight.

But rather than denying that it was her in the picture, she fully copped to being in the photos. She maintained her innocence in the matter, however, by placing the blame on an unidentified friend, who she said took the photo and, wouldn't you know it, totally set her up! Oh, the conspiracies!

Though short of them literally forcing her into the snorting position, it's unclear why she thought it would be a good idea to go along with the photo shoot, particularly—or especially—given her famous family and rumored history with drugs.

In any case, she took to her Twitter page yesterday to straighten things out:

"The pictures_a former very dear person to me did this," she wrote. "Set me up to make it look exactly what it looks like. God will smite them yes..But it's really not what it looks like..People will do anything for money which is extremely sad, and I'm very hurt by this.

"Things people do these days to hurt others is a shame. All I can do now, is keep my head up high, keep looking towards the lord. All the lord is telling me is be still. That's all, and that's exactly what I'm going to do."

And because everyone wants to know how Bobby and Whitney are handling this, the answer is with love and support and total belief in their avowedly drug-eschewing daughter.

"I love my family so much," Bobbi Kristina wrote. "My mom just comforted me to the max, and I'm so thankful for her. Thank you so much lord for blessing me with an phenomenal family and incredibly phenomenal mother. Thank you for giving me the strength to move forward and put things in the past.

"I'm following my mothers footsteps industry wise. My family is great_and I know I will overcome this and succeed. This is all I'm gonna say."

That seems wise.
