On last night's episode of Piers Morgan Tonight, we ventured into the inner depths of George Clooney's soul.

And he did talk about his whole commitment marriage issue with the new CNN host.

So what'd George have to say on the question that has followed him for years?

Well, for everyone who thinks 2011 is the year Clooney will settle down (Hi, Elisabetta!), think again.

While on the show, the actor explained that his marriage to actress Talia Balsam, which ended way back in 1993, was enough for him.

George's father, Nick, was also on the show and wasn't shy about dropping some hints when it came to whether he'd like to see his son at the altar. He even cited his own marriage success with Mrs. Clooney as evidence that it can work. "I want you to think about that. I want you to think about—we've been married—Nina and I've been married 51 years," he said. He called their union "one of the great marriages."

So what could George possibly say to that?

"I hate to blow your whole news story," said the younger Clooney, "but I was married, so I gave it a shot."

Clooney said that "shot" ought to have "proven how good I was at it."

Oh, chin up Georgey! Practice makes perfect.

Can't help but wonder how Elisabetta is taking this news though.
