You can feel the love tonight over at Elton John's place.

The singer and David Furnish are first-time dads after welcoming a son via surrogate on Christmas Day.

Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John was born in California, weighing 7 pounds, 15 ounces, E! News has confirmed.

"We are overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment," the Furnish-Johns said in a joint statement to UsMagazine.com.. "Zachary is healthy and doing really well, and we are very proud and happy parents."

The longtime couple apparently were serious about that fatherhood thing.

In 2009, they expressed interest in adopting a 14-month-old, HIV-positive Ukrainian orphan who John met while traveling for his AIDS Foundation, but national law requiring that adoptive parents be married (civil unions not included) and under 45 (John is 62) prevented them from sealing the deal. They afterward vowed to provide financial support for the child and his younger brother, regardless.

John and Furnish have been together for more than a decade and opted to tie the knot in 2005.
