Jessica Simpson and her NFL beau, Eric Johnson, are set to wed! "Yes, we are excited to confirm that they are engaged," the songbird's rep tells E! News.
It was a quick road to romance for the two, who began dating in May while the footballer was estranged from his stylist wife, Keri Johnson. His divorce has since been finalized.
But wait, wasn't Jess already in the news for another engagement this week?!
Right you are, but that marriage news belongs to none other than Simpson's ex-hubby Nick Lachey and his new fianceé Vanessa Minnillo.
And before you start speculating about any bitterness between the former Newlyweds, Jess stopped by Ryan Seacrest's radio show Thursday morning to pass along her congrats to the happy couple.
"I am extremely, extremely happy for him," she said. "Our relationship was over a really long time ago, and it would be nice if everyone could move on with us and really just celebrate the love between him and Vanessa. I do, and I wish them nothing but the best."
And we're sure Nick will reciprocate Jess' well wishes any minute now...right?
Simpson, meanwhile, is now sporting a monstrous Neil Lane diamond- and ruby-studded engagement ring, which she flashed to onlookers during a promotional appearance Saturday at Dillard's department store in Kansas City.
And her new beau comes with the family seal of approval. Joe Simpson headed to Twitter Sunday night to share his congrats. "So very happy for Jess and Eric," the doting dad wrote. "May they have a lifetime of joy and happiness."
