Just call her a CW darling. Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl alum Michelle Trachtenberg is reteaming with Gossip bosses Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage for a new CW series that the actress will both star in and executive produce. What's this new show all about, and when might we see it on TV?

Both the CW and Michelle's rep confirm the good news. "Trachtenberg has joined forces with producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage under their shingle Fake Empire for this one hour drama," Michelle's rep tells us. "They pitched Michelle's idea to Warner Brothers Studio, [which] bought the pitch right then and there, and immediately took it to the CW, [which] bought it in the room."

Insiders confirm Deadline's item stating that Untitled Michelle Trachtenberg Project is about "a young criminology student with a dark past and a knack for profiling suspects."

But before the new series pitch was ever unveiled, we caught up with the starlet at New York Fashion Week, and she gushed a little about her next gig.

"Right now I'm producing my own show that I created so that's taking up some time," she said at Zac Posen's Z Spoke afterparty. "It's something that is very female-driven, and it is an hourlong drama. It will be really cool and different, something you haven't seen before."

And if it doesn't work out, she's always got this little gem on the backburner: "My sister and I like to joke about our fake reality show called Tracking the Trachtenbergs. It's going to be really crazy and exciting about us sitting on the couch flipping through magazines and eating cookies."

If series development and pilot production go well, look for the series to air on the CW beginning in the fall of 2011.

In the meantime, let's all brainstorm about Michelle's new project in the comments section. Are you excited Miss T. is heading back to the small screen in a starring role? Or will you miss more Georgina Sparks over on Gossip Girl? Let us know!
