MTV's T.J. Lavin is in the fight of his life.

The BMX star and host of the cable net's Real World/Road Rules Challenge is in a coma in critical condition after wiping out while competing in the Dew Tour Championships last night in Las Vegas.

According to ESPN, the 33-year-old Lavin was attempting to perform a "nac nac" combination jump during a qualifier on the second set of a dirt course when he lost control of his bike upon landing, was thrown to the ground and knocked unconscious.

The X Games champ was transported to the trauma center of the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where doctors put him in a medically induced coma to relieve swelling on his brain. He also sustained a shattered right wrist and broken ribs in the mishap.

Besides emceeing his MTV show for 10 seasons, Lavin also has appeared on an episode of Cribs and has a video game named in his honor, MTV Sports: T.J. Lavin's Ultimate BMX.

We're sending our thoughts.
