Did the Hall of Famer try to pick up a sexy sideline reporter with his pigskin?

Forget his goof during last year's playoffs. This is the mother of all interceptions.

Minnesota Vikings' star quarterback Brett Favre has found himself on the receiving end of some embarrassing allegations that he tried to proposition a sexy sideline reporter with a series of voicemails, email messages and sexually explicit photos of his, um, little Favre two years ago when both were working for the New York Jets.

Note to Brett: Maybe you should get some advice from Tiger Woods right about now.

The clumsy come-ons, first reported by Deadspin.com in August, raise the specter of a sexual harrassment suit, because they were aimed at Jennifer Sterger, a former Jets employee during the NFL legend's tenure on the team who's now co-host of The Daily Line, a nightly sports chatfest on cable's Versus.

In a two-minute video posted by the Gawker Media sports blog, a man with a deep voice sounding similar to Favre's (though with a slight Southern twang) is heard leaving the following voice mail with the brunette beauty (who denies leaking any of the materials):

"Just got done with practice. Got meetings here for a couple more hours, then I'm going back to the hotel to just chill," said the person purported to be the footballer. "So send me a text. So I'll be in the building for a couple of hours. But, uh, I know [unintelligible] came up and asked ya for your number or gave you my number. But I understand. Send me a text. I'd love to see you tonight. All right, talk to you later. Bye."

The 40-year-old Favre—supposedly using the Internet handle Screaming Lord Byron—may have also tried to woo the 26-year-old Sterger via MySpace.

"I saw you in the tunnel at the game last week got your name from front-office person. I'm new to team with gray hair all the info I can give," read the message.

When the former Playboy pinup rejected his advances, that's when he allegedly sent her naked pictures of his penis.

Sterger has declined to comment on the sexting scandal, perhaps not wanting to be painted another Rachel Uchitel. Though Deadspin reported that Sterger replied in an email that there's no way she'd ever contemplate hooking up with Favre, who as it happens is married and is also a grandfather!

"I don't roll that way. That way meaning old ... or married," she said at the time.

For his part, the three-time MVP is doing his best to ignore the controversy.

"I'm not getting into that. I've got my hands full with the Jets," he said at a Thursday Vikings press conference.
