Dear Joan:
I am a 44-year-old woman who is going to Vegas next week (three days only). What items should I take to be fashionable and still pack light? Love you on Fashion Police. I always DVR your show!
—Wendy

Dear Vegas Vacation:

Fun! You can't go wrong with sequins for an evening out. But keep it simple, simple, simple during the day—a bathing suit and cover-up for the pool and a sundress or shorts and tank (and comfortable shoes!) for walking the Strip. Enjoy yourself, and don't do anything I wouldn't do!

Dear Joan:
How do I get out of the black EVERYTHING rut? I am stuck and need an intervention. Certain no other color looks good on me.
—Hope

Dear Mistress of the Dark:
I don't think you should get rid of your entire wardrobe and start from scratch. You just need to stretch beyond your comfort zone—a pink scarf, a metallic vest, some red shoes. You've already found what flatters, and now it's a matter of playing off all that black with a pop of color.

Dear Joan:
First, just wanna say love your show a million!! I just wanted to ask: I have an unattractive nose, so how can I dress or do my hair or makeup to make it look smaller? Also, congrats again. I watch you every time it's on, even the repeats. You're just really funny!!
—Libra

Dear Ms. Zodiac:
I'm glad you're enjoying it! And I doubt you have an unattractive nose—let's just call it a nose with character, which is something you should embrace. But if you do want to tone it down, play up the features you do like. A fabulous blowout, some false lashes and smoky eye makeup—anything that stands out and distracts from the middle of your face.

Dear Joan:
Who is the designer of the animal-print dress Kelly was wearing?
—Anna

Dear Kelly Fan:
Didn't she look great? The designer is Elise Overland. The shoes are Miu Miu, the jewelry is Roseark and blazer is Lucca Couture.

Dear Joan:
I'm attending a black-tie wedding next Saturday evening and will be wearing a black silk jersey draped minidress with black suede platform heals. My question for you: Should I go with or without stockings? If you think I should wear stockings, should I go opaque or sheer? Patterned or plain?
—Suzanne

Dear Legs:
What's going to make you most comfortable? I like bare legs, especially with a black mini and black shoes. But if you'd prefer a little extra coverage, go sheer and patterned. And mazel tov to the happy couple!

Dear Joan:
I think you're awesome—I like your style. In your opinion, who always looks good? Which brand is better, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel or Armani? I love your show =)
—Denisse

Dear Fashion Fan:
Thank you, my darling! I adore Lady Gaga because she has so much fun with it all. And Nicole Kidman and Halle Berry just love to dress up, which I appreciate. As for the designers, a woman doesn't kiss and tell, but I did just wear Dolce & Gabbana the other day, so...

Dear Joan:
What colors are trending right now? Are the earth ones?
—Claudia

Dear Curious:
Yes! Fall is all about the great outdoors: olive green, brown, camel and copper. But don't worry, if you feel like wearing something else, embrace your individuality and color it up.

Dear Joan:
I was always taught some rules of fashion: no white after Labor Day, white after Easter and no shoes lighter than your hemline. I am seeing more and more of the taupe shoes with darker dresses. Is this OK? Is taupe the exception to the rule?
—Sue

Dear Rules Girl:
First things first, toss out these rules and do what makes you happy. As for wearing taupe shoes with darker clothes, Hollywood's got a thing for nude heels (along with a lot of other naked parts) because it generally makes their legs look longer and also doesn't compete for attention with their very expensive clothes. So go on and borrow this trick from the pros.

Dear Joan:
I am a woman of 65, attractive for my age. I need tips on how to dress stylish and age appropriate. I am a size 10-12.
—Been There and Back

Dear Golden Girl:
Welcome to the prime-time club! Start with the basics. Buy the best pieces you can afford, one great pair of pants or a well-tailored skirt. Then add unexpected accents that let your sense of style shine through—a great cocktail ring, a colorful jacket or graphic scarf. It's less about being trendy and more about polish and personality.

Dear Joan:
I am 21 years old and from Nigeria. I am dark in complexion and don't how to dress well. Please, I will really appreciate your help because my mum complains a lot about it.
—Elfreda

Dear Long Distance:
Thank you for watching from so far away. Even if she drives you nuts, mom only wants what's best for you. (You should see how I nag Melissa.) I bet she even has a few good ideas about what to wear. My suggestion: sleek and simple clothes in gorgeously vibrant colors to compliment your skin tone.

Dear Joan:
I love your show a lot. I just want your opinion on something. My hair has always been black. I wanna try to make it blond, like Jennifer Aniston. Would it be weird? My hair was really long and now it's short. I like change a lot. I just want a push to become blond.
—Da Girlie

Dear Brownie:
Life is all about taking chances, so if your gut is telling you to go blond then I say, bring on the bleach. They say blondes have more fun and I sure have had a great time. Just make sure you're doing this for yourself and not because you want to look like a celebrity. The most important thing is to be true to yourself with any hair color.

Dear Joan:
What is a great way to be casual and pulled together?
—Bridgette

Dear Casual Chic:
Accessories help a lot. Some of the most stylish women in the world can wear the scruffiest clothes, but it all comes together once they add the right belt or scarf. And of course you can never forget about body language. Confidence can help you pull anything off.

Dear Joan:
I don't look good in skinny jeans or jeggings because I'm a size 13 and have a big lower body. How can I show off my new combat boots in the fall and winter?
—L.K.

Dear Boots:
Have you tried rolled up or ankle-length jeans? It won't keep you warm, but it would solve the problem of showing off your brand-new boots. Enjoy!

Dear Joan:
You've met Love Actually's Martine McCutcheon. I've seen you two on a British talk show together (I think it was Parkinson). I was wondering what are some key accessory items I can buy that are inspired by her?
—Andrina

Dear Red Carpet Watcher:
Yes, she's a lovely girl. And very classic. A quilted Chanel bag (or something that looks just like it), chandelier earrings and a beautiful smile should do the trick.

Dear Joan:
I am a huge fan and I am 12 years old. But considering the weather where I live, it is hot! I am not a girl who usually wears anything that goes above my knees, but my mom bought me some short-shorts. I only wear them on top of a bathing suit or to the beach. Should I wear them to the mall with a tank top?
—Weather Fashion Worthy

Dear Fashion Fan:
I'm going out on a limb and saying, "Go for it!" If mom bought them, she must have known you'd look good (and not too sexy) in them. But no pressure. It's all about what you think suits you.

Dear Joan:
Loved the black leather jacket you wore on last week's show. Where did you get it?
—Julie

Dear Jules:
Thank you so much. It was Escada. The dress was Dolce & Gabbana and the jewels are mine!
