Well, that didn't take long.

Just a day after Rick Sanchez's foot-in-mouth radio rant against Jon Stewart and Jews in general, the Daily Show host has fired back.

Not one to shy away from a chance at payback, Stewart couldn't resist kicking off his hosting duties Saturday at Comedy Central's Night of Too Many Stars autism benefit special with a little dig at now-ex-CNNer Sanchez...

In his opening monologue, Stewart asked people to make a donation to help autism education but added a caveat: "If you went on radio and said the Jews control the media…you may want to hold on to your money," according to the  Hollywood Reporter.

But, the fun didn't stop there.

Stewart went on to say that if Sanchez's comments about Jewish people were accurate, "All he has to do is apologize to us, and we'll hire him back."

In his ill-advised radio remarks, Sanchez labeled Stewart a "bigot" and snarkily claimed Jewish people ran "all the other networks." CNN quickly gave him the boot.

Also piling on at Saturday night's event was surprise guest David Letterman, who cracked that he was in town "helping Rick Sanchez clean out his office."

While The Night of Too Many Stars turned into the Night of Goofing on Sanchez, there's no word yet on how many of the jokes will survive when the special finally airs on Comedy Central on Oct. 21.

We're not sure Sanchez deserves that long of a shelf life.
