Lady Gaga has hung up her meat dress and put on a shirt and tie.
The pop music superstar is continuing her beef with the U.S. military's Don't Ask, Don't Tell (DADT) policy with a video message targeting former presidential candidate Sen. John McCain and other politicos who oppose gays in uniform...
"I'm here to be a voice of my generation," Gaga says in the clip released earlier today. "Not the generation of the senators who are voting, but for the youth of this country, the generation that is affected by this law and whose children will be affected."
"We are not asking you to agree with or approve the moral implications of homosexuality," she said. "We're asking you to do your job, to protect the Constitution."
Gaga's guests at the VMAs included former service men and women who were discharged or chose to leave the military because of DADT.
"The most shocking discovery for me was to hear them all say how much they missed serving and protecting our nation, how they joined the Armed Forces because they believe in America," she says in the vid.
Gaga also urges opponents of the policy to call their senators to demand the end of DADT. In the clip she tries to call the offices of both New York's senators, but fails to get anyone on the horn.
Sure, this video might not be as catchy as "Telephone," but I like the message.
