Is Blake Lively Really the Next Big Thing?

Gossip Girl star is appearing on Vogue for the third time, but why?

So, rumor has it that Blake Lively has landed the cover of a fall issue of Vogue—you know, that magazine you might have heard of run by Anna Wintour?

Turns out that Lively is quite the little trendsetter, both in terms of her style and the fact that she's about to set a certain record for the magazine that Kristen Stewart hasn't appeared on the cover of once...

Little Miss Blake, at only 22, is set to cover the American version of the mag for the third time, which is quite the feat. We're sure it has nothing to do with the mucho ass kissing she does to Wintour. Whatever Anna says Blake does! Smart and crafty girl that Lively.

But sorry, gotta ask, what has B.L. done exactly?

Be annoying on Gossip Girl ('tho the fact Serena sucks isn't entirely her fault)? Look, we think the blonde bombshell is a total babe. That body? Insane. The hair? Perfection. But she is nowhere near qualified to set that record (hell, we're not even saying Stewart is!).

Sure, Green Lantern is supposed to be her breakout hit, but after watching that heinous Boston accent in the trailer for her next flick The Town we're just not sure if we can get behind Blake the movie star. Fashion star yes, but let's be real mag covers are all about featuring actress now.

Obvs plenty of femme's have graced the international versions multiple times, but Blake would be the first chica to hit the newsstands for a third round. Carey Mulligan isn't even getting her first Vogue cover apparently until October. Considering that stars like Victoria Beckham are clamoring to be featured in the U.S. edition even once, it's pretty impressive how far the Gossip Girl has come, we'll give her props.

It's just that public Blake is so boring. She's not, 'tho, behind the scenes which is why we still dig her. So unless she's gonna gab some fun goss about costar Ryan Reynolds and hidden wife Scarlett Johansson, can't say we're itching to run out and swoop up the mag no matter how fab her locks are bound to look.
