Jennifer Aniston: First Perfume, Next a Clothing Line?

Find out what the former Friends star says about breaking into the fashion business

Jennifer Aniston just released her first fragrance.

A clothing line must be next, right?

"No," Aniston she told me at last night's Hollywood premiere of her new movie, The Switch, when I asked if she had any plans to jump into the fashion biz. "It's not in my current thoughts."

So maybe down the line? "Not yet," she teased. "But I'll let you know."

As for the flick, in which she stars as a 40-year-old single woman who uses a sperm donor to get pregnant, Aniston said she was disappointed it wasn't being released under its original title. "I wish it was still called The Baster," she said. "But there are all these tests, meetings and focus groups of all sorts and cool names like The Baster get switched to The Switch!"

And what about the poster that features Jason Bateman, who plays Aniston's best friend, holding up a cup of the donor's semen? "It really says it all, doesn't it?" said Patrick Wilson, who plays the donor. "There's no holding back.

"I remember shooting the scene and thinking that it sure seemed like a lot," he continued. "Not that it says anything about me, but it just seemed like a lot."

Juliette Lewis, who plays Aniston's wacky best gal pal in the movie, said the name change and the unusual poster imagery shouldn't make a difference in selling the movies.  

"All I know is this is an unusual take on the traditional finding love kind of movie," said Lewis, who donned blue hair for the premiere.

Meanwhile, Lewis is already getting awards season heat for a small but pivotal role in Conviction, the upcoming drama based on a true story about a working mom who puts herself through law school in order to represent her brother, who was given a life sentence for a murder he didn't commit.

"It's one of the most special things I have ever done," Lewis said. "It was a real challenge for me and that's the kind of work I look for in drama—stuff that's rich and complex and moves people. I just hope it does that."

After The Switch screening at the Arclight, Aniston held court at an afterparty at the W Hollywood hotel's Delphine restaurant. Guests included Bateman, Wilson, Lewis as well as Kathy Najimy, Scott Foley and Jon Heder.
