It took a lot longer than 22 minutes to solve the problem, but 30 Rock's Grizzwald "Grizz" Chapman got his happy ending anyway.

After two years of suffering from a form of chronic kidney disease know as end stage renal failure—and seven months after going public with his plight—the actor has successfully undergone a kidney transplant.

Details on his procedure are scarce, and the 35-year-old has yet to mention it on his Facebook page, but the good news emerged as Chapman was announced as a speaker for an event taking place in New York tomorrow observing National Minority Organ Donor Awareness Day.

"After my diagnosis, I began a courageous fight for my health and for my life," he said. "This experience has taught me the important of organ and tissue donation and how we need to celebrate the heroism of donors and the positive impact they make on the lives of recipients."

The event is taking place at NYC's Montefiore Medical Center, the very location Grizz underwent the transplant a little over a month ago. He will appear at the event to advocate organ donation, a cause he has publicly touted for months.

Just two weeks ago he posted a message on his Facebook page encouraging followers to "help your fellow man."

He has even formed Team Grizz, which regularly walks to support the National Kidney Foundation and raise awareness and funds for the cause and will do so again on Oct. 17 in NYC's National Kidney Foundation Kidney Walk.

"Twenty six million Americans have Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and I was one of them," he wrote. We're guessing he's never been so happy to use the past tense.
