Will Bret Michaels be the first American Idol judge to sport a bandana?

Well, if it was up to him, he'd be more than happy to slip into Simon Cowell's now vacant seat.

"We have a meeting in L.A. in a couple of weeks and we're going to sit down and talk," he tells Parade.com. "I would love to be a judge on American Idol. I think I would bring a lot to the table."

However, the rocker does acknowledge that Simon himself is irreplaceable.

"I'm not built exactly like Simon Cowell, but, at the same time, I respect what he did," he says. "But I would have to bring my own personality. I think if they have someone in there to try to imitate Simon, it would be a mistake; he's an original."

In other words, you wouldn't hear him spew out caustic criticism in a British accent while wearing tight-fiting tees.

So what do you think? Would Bret on American Idol give you something to believe in next season or would it just be pure, er, poison?
