He may have just had his appendix ripped out, but Bret Michaels wants fans to know he's doing A-OK.

The Poison frontman and Celebrity Apprentice contestant blogged about his recent hospitalization saying, "If I had gone onstage like I wanted to, it likely would have ruptured and I could have died."

Michaels was in San Antonio for a sold-out concert when he started throwing up. He thought it was the flu, but doctors rushed him to the ER, did a CAT scan and performed an emergency appendectomy. He was released from the hospital on Wednesday.

The rocker says he's still in pain and that it may take more than six weeks to heal since he's diabetic. Luckily, to expedite his recovery he has baseball, mom episodes of Modern Family and apple pie "hot nurses taking care of me."

Rock on, Bret.
