Kim Kardashian's Air Marshal Buddy Not in Trouble for Blabbing

TSA tells E! News it's unlikely that the air marshal outed by Kim on Twitter will be investigated

If you've been keeping up with Kim Kardashian, you may know that she tweeted about sitting next to a supposedly undercover air marshal on a flight from New York to Los Angeles last night.

But there's no need to make a federal case out of it.

A spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration tells E! News that it's highly unlikely there will be an investigation into whether the marshal Kardashian identified as "Jim" violated protocol by revealing who he was. 

"If we investigated every allegation of people playing 'go find the air marshal,' we'd be investigating a lot for no reason," says spokesman Nelson Minerly. "The federal air marshal service does not confirm what flights we travel on for security purposes."

In fact, according to a government source, these so-called sky cops are allowed to use their judgment when it comes to chatting with passengers.

When one of her Twitter followers pointed out that she wasn't supposed to know who Jim was because he's supposed to remain anonymous, Kardashian replied, "Air Marshall's are supposed to keep their identity concealed. He did! I am just a private eye & assumed, so I asked him & he was honest!"

So apparently Jim's discretion allowed for the E! star's curiosity.

And Kardashian was happy knowing that she was sitting next to the man with the plan, tweeting, "Jim the air marshall makes me feel safe!"

"Part of our mission statement is to ensure the safety and security of the traveling public," Minerly of the TSA tells E! "If Kim felt she was more secure, whether or not we had an air marshal present, that's a good thing."
