Valentine's Day is right around the corner—what better time to indulge in a little Love news?

A judge has extended the restraining order filed by Frances Bean Cobain against her estranged maternal unit, Courtney Love, ensuring that mommie dearest must refrain from contacting her spawn at least through April 9.

The 17-year-old offspring of music royalty secured the temporary restraining order back in December, just as a judge stripped Love of legal custody of her daughter. Guardianship was granted to Kurt's mom and sister.

And while the extension sounds pretty bad, it could have been worse. Theoretically, the judge could have extended the TRO up to three years—of course, in reality, Frances turns 18 in August and will be free to decide without the aid of the courts what sort of relationship she wants with her mother. We're guessing it won't be much of one.
