Along with the Grammy Awards this weekend comes the unfortunate reminder of last year's incident between Rihanna and Chris Brown on the eve of music's biggest night.

But the "Russian Roulette" singer, appearing on an episode of the Ellen DeGeneres Show Monday, isn't dwelling on the past. While talking about her "approximately 13" tattoos, for instance, Rihanna reveals what the newest one across her chest says...

"It reads, 'Never a failure, always a lesson.' Basically saying, It's OK to make a mistake, just don't make them twice."

Which, naturally, leads to questions about her current status.

"Are you dating anyone now?" inquires Ellen.

"No, I'm single," replies Rihanna.

"Really? What about the guy we keep seeing you with?" asks a surprised Ellen, referring to L.A. Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp, who was recently spotted frolicking with the pop star in Mexico.

To which Rihanna simply answers with a laugh.

Ah, laughter. What a difference a year makes.
