Tiger Woods isn't the only one ruing the day.

Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik, Elin Nordegren's former boss and the man responsible for introducing his family's nanny to the No. 1 golfer in the world, now feels kinda sorry for helping to bring the two together.

"We probably thought he was a better guy than he is," Parnevik told the Golf Channel in between rounds in West Palm Beach, Fla., where he's preparing for the PGA Tour Qualifying tourney. "I would probably need to apologize to her and hope she uses a driver next time instead of a 3-iron."

Fore!

Parnevik was of course referring to Nordegren's use of a golf club to, according to what the couple told police, break the back window of Tiger's Escalade after he crashed into a tree outside their Florida home at 2:25 a.m. on Friday.

The police are done with Tiger, citing him solely for careless driving, but the tabloids have just begun.

"It's a private thing, of course," Parnevik added. "But when you are the guy he is—the world's best athlete—you should think more before you do stuff...and maybe not 'Just do it,' like Nike says."

Speaking of the shoe-and-clothing behemoth, Nike reiterated today, following Tiger's more evolved mea culpa, that it fully supports the golf great and his family.

"Our relationship remains unchanged," the company said.

It's not your fault, Jesper. Look how happy Tiger and the missus used to look...
