As cliffhanger questions go, the matter of who Mike Delfino married had the edge over who won Survivor.
Desperate Housewives' fifth-season finale, which didn't resolve its mystery, ruled Sunday, averaging 13.9 million viewers, per preliminary Nielsen estimates. From 8 to 10 p.m., Survivor: Tocantins' 18th season-ender, which did, scored 12.7 million.
Elsewhere in the weekend ratings:
• The Survivor J.T. Thomas Jr.-crowning finale actually ran until 10:08 p.m. So, CBS' numbers might go up (or down) as Nielsen adds in the overrun. For now, the finale and reunion special averaged 11.9 million from 10 to 11 p.m.
• Farrah Fawcett's harrowing cancer documentary, Farrah's Story, scored 8.9 million viewers on Friday, matching the audience of that night's Ghost Whisperer finale. (The shows did not air opposite each other.)
• Ghost Whisperer was down from last week and down about 1 million viewers from its season average.
• Among this year's gutsy celeb specials, the ailing Patrick Swayze's January sit-down with Barbara Walters remains the most-watched, with about 12.6 million viewers.
• Saturday's all-star Saturday Night Live finale ran even with last year's in the nation's top TV markets, NBC said.
