Dave Gahan has admittedly cheated death on multiple occasions. Here's hoping the Depeche Mode frontman didn't have to use up one of his nine lives this time.

The British synth-pop rockers were forced to cancel their Tuesday night show in Athens, Greece, after Gahan was rushed to the hospital for an undisclosed illness.

"We regret today's performance has to be canceled. David Gahan fell ill in his dressing room," a concert organizer told the 20,000-strong crowd gathered at Terra Vibe Park to hear new-wave hits like "Just Can't Get Enough."

The band is scheduled to play Istanbul on Thursday. No word yet on any further cancellations.

Depeche Mode released their 12th studio album, Sounds of the Universe, last month. The 49-year-old Gahan and bandmates Martin Gore and Andrew Fletcher have been together since 1980.
