Per Billboard, two music videos that Ledger helmed before his tragic death in January 2008 are finally going to see the light of day.
The first is a promotional cartoon the Dark Knight star devised and shot for Seattle alt-rockers Modest Mouse for their song "King Rat," a bonus track off their 2007 album We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank.
As first reported by Spin, the vid was animated by Monty Python alum Terry Gilliam, who directed Ledger in his last big-screen performance in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus before the thesp died of an accidental prescription overdose during production.
Given the film's fantastical nature, Gilliam was able to rework the script and finish the movie, which is currently in search of a distributor. Jude Law, Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell each are said to play various incarnations of Ledger's character.
Before turning to filmmaking, Gilliam, of course, was famed early in his career for drawing the absurdist 'toons that became a staple of Monty Python's Flying Circus.
Ledger first became interested in collaborating with Modest Mouse in 2007 after batting around ideas on a boat trip with singer Isaac Brock.
The band's spokesperson said the video will debut "soon," but declined to offer a specific release date. Modest Mouse meanwhile is scheduled to perform on The Late Show with David Letterman tomorrow night.
The other forthcoming music video is for rookie crooner Grace Woodroofe's cover of David Bowie's "Quicksand," though no word yet on when it will drop.
Ledger's previous music video credits include promo clips for Australian MC N'fa and the late legendary singer-songwriter Nick Drake.
