Where, oh where can Redmond be?

A Malibu court issued a bench warrant today for Redmond O'Neal after the 24-year-old missed his arraignment in connection with a September drug bust at dad Ryan O'Neal's house.

"Redmond failed to show up for court this morning, so the judge issued a bench warrant that he held over," Los Angeles District Attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison tells E! News. "If he comes to the next court date," she added, "then the warrant will be dismissed."

He was arrested Sept. 17 for possession of methamphetamine after officers turned up at the O'Neal house for a routine probation sweep stemming from Redmond's past drug offenses.

At the time, Redmond was on three years' probation for drug possession and misdemeanor driving under the influence. He had also logged several stints in rehab to kick a heroin habit.

Ryan O'Neal was also arrested and charged with felony drug possession after a vial of meth was found in his bedroom.

After repeatedly touting his innocence, the 67-year-old Love Story star pleaded guilty and was ordered into an 18-month drug-deferment program, which, if successfully completed, will see his charges dismissed.

His son's situation is more complicated. Shortly after the arrest, Redmond entered and completed a two-week detox program, which prompted praise from Superior Court Judge Scott Millington. The judge also postponed Redmond's arraignment to today.

A lawyer for O'Neal could not be reached for comment. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for March 25.
