Ryan Lochte wants to bring awareness to swimming, but David Letterman just wants to see him wrapped in bubble wrap.
That's what we learned from Lochte's appearance on Late Show with David Letterman last night, as the new E! star sat down with Dave to discuss his reasons for doing What Would Ryan Lochte Do?
"After the Olympics, people tend to forget about swimming," Lochte said. "I just want to bring swimming into everyone's living room. Swimming awareness."
Letterman had his concerns over Lochte's hobbies, like skateboarding and surfing. "Do people caution you?" he asked, warning that Lochte could "break an elbow" and jeopardize his swimming career.
"My coaches, they've gotten so many gray hairs over it," Lochte admitted. "If they had it their way, I'd be placed in bubble wrap."
"I'd tune in for that," joked Letterman. Who wouldn't?
