Created by One Tree Hill's Mark Schwahn and also starring Vincent Regan as King Simon, and William Moseley and Alexandra Park as the devious royal twins, the hour-long drama series explores the unfamiliar world of royalty and shows what really goes on behind those palace gates—from illicit affairs to political scandals and much more.

"This pickup today caught us all off-guard and we're all so thrilled," Mark said at the Television Critic Awards.

Joan Collins also guest stars as the Grand Duchess of Oxford, and season two promises to delve even deeper into The Royals' exclusive world of power and privilege.

Let the anarchy begin...
