The same goes for the British Royal Family—Queen Elizabeth can always be seen in an array of bold and beautiful colors with matching hats, Kate Middleton has been known to be a trendsetter for her time, and Prince William always looks sharp, whether in a suit or other royal attire!

Royals Don't Wear Black Except in Mourning
If you've ever wondered why you never see Kate or any of the other Royal Family members wearing black often, it's because Royals don't wear black unless it's at a funeral, during a Remembrance service, or when audience is held with the Pope.
The same goes for black evening dresses, but fortunately there are so many other beautiful colors to choose from!
Ladies Wear Hats
Due to the various events such as races, garden parties, and Royal Ascot (a British racecourse), British royal ladies wear their hats in order to follow the rule of standing out in a crowd.
It is important that the hat does not shield the face from public view, however.
Skirt Hemlines Are Weighted Down
Royal ladies keep the hemlines of their skirts weighted down in order to maintain a sense of modesty and to prevent any mishaps, particularly when it's windy!

Ladies Wear Tiaras at White Tie Events
For white tie events, men wear an evening tail coat with a white bow tie and waistcoat, while ladies long evening dresses, long gloves and tiaras.
Orders and Decorations Are Worn by Everyone Entitled
Depending on the occasion and one's various titles, orders and decorations are worn by those entitled to do so, although one must not wear the collar of an order (these never appear after sunset).
