Lady Mary can do no wrong in our book. That shiny, perfectly-coiffed hair, the alabaster skin and subtly lined eyes, topped off with a pinky coral lip equals pure perfection.
What's up with the matronly beehive? Combined with the collared shirt, Julia looked ready for a PTA meeting. We liked the shimmery gray eye shadow but it was difficult to get past the dowdy ‘do.
This hairstyle may even be too old-time for Julie's grandmother. We're not sure why the 43-year-old Modern Family actress went for this matronly period-piece hairstyle but the bland makeup wasn't doing her any favors either. Her face cried out in mercy for a siren red lip!
The gorgeous starlet wore all of the night's biggest trends with a side-swept chignon, black-lined eyes and nude lip. When Kate was on camera, however, she shined unnaturally like a mannequin version of herself, proving she went a bit overboard with the highlighter and other "enhancements."
Last night, Reese showed off her cute new blunt bob and wispy bangs. Her blue eyes sparkled with an opaque bronze shadow smoked eye. We would have loved a bit more color on her lips but we really can't blame her since she wasn't alone in drinking the nude lipstick Kool Aid.
Sandra was all modern glam with a side-swept low teased ponytail and rosy mauve lip. We loved that the Gravity star's ponytail was back-combed for extra texture.
Jessica gave us major hair envy last night. She turned to celebrity stylist Oribe to give her his signature teased crown and luscious locks. The shimmery champagne eye shadow and long fluttery lashes made her green eyes shine. Like Sandra, Jessica sported a rose-colored mauve lipstick.
We beyond loved the braided, textured bun, especially with her low cut dress. But come on, the Golden Globes winner wore just a light wash of a peach bronze eye shadow and a red dress and she opted for a peachy nude lip? Really? A fiery red lip would have made Ms. Adams one of our best looks of the night.
We're not sure what's going on with the supermodel lately. It's like she's testing us. Yes, we know she's gorgeous but she's making some bad choices here. She's clearly not wearing primer (visible pores and shine on her cheeks), the white eyeliner on her waterline looks artificial and that pale chalky lipstick completely washes her out.
Oh Taylor, we love Orange is the New Black so much and we were really hoping you would wow us like you did at the Emmys. But that eye makeup is way too dark and heavy and that hair looks like it fell victim to a hot, humid day in Texas.
The gorgeous starlet was a few teases away from Bride of Frankenstein. But come on, just because whoever sat behind Amber didn't see the stage all night, didn't mean she didn't look stunning. That bronzy smoky eye made her green eyes jump out of every photo and those cheekbones go on for miles.
We have one word for the Golden Globe-nominated star of 12 Years a Slave – wow. Lupita was definitely one of our favorite looks of the night with just a wash of gold eye shadow, black winged eyeliner, and an iridescent orangey red lip.
Now that's what we call a statement eye! The matte emerald shadow made The Big Bang Theory starlet's green eyes pop off the screen. The modern shape of her shadowed winged eye gave the newly married actress's peepers more of a natural lift.
Could she be any cuter? The silk flower tucked in her side-swept chignon gives this look a vintage feel. And, the star of The New Girl really knows how to rock a statement lip. With just a wash of sheer shimmery eye shadow and a few coats of mascara, the eye makeup didn't take away from the crimson pucker.
Uh oh, looks like the Modern Family star fell asleep at the makeup chair, and her makeup artist played a cruel joke by giving the petite actress those ridiculously heavy eyebrows. To make it worse, the rest of her pale pink makeup was way too matchy-matchy with her dress, totally washing her out.
The Bling Ring star was a vision of chic in her severe side-part low bun and matte pink lip. We liked that her eye makeup was kept minimal with the liquid black winged eye. And who does her highlights? Number please!
JLaw may have to start showing off her archery skills to her makeup artist if these makeup looks continue this award season. We usually love the American Hustle star's makeup but the wash of silver eye shadow made her lids look puffy and completely clashed with the bright berry lip.
Uh wow, Cate Blanchett looked good last night. With her beautifully sculpted faux bob and classic makeup, the Golden Globe winner was the epitome of old Hollywood glam.
Being that the future Mrs. Sudeikis is a Revlon spokesperson, we were kind of expecting great makeup. But the Rush star downright stole the show with those purple and plum smoked eyes and peachy lip. We couldn't stop zooming in on every photo to drink in every last detail!
The minimal makeup totally worked for The Masters of Sex star's green eyes and creamy skin, but what happened with the hair? It's like she had a pre-show Mommy Dearest moment with a pair of scissors.
