The two comedic legends' closeness was clearly shown both for the cameras and off the cameras. From television shows and red carpets to galas and even roasts, their bond appeared to be an irreplacable one.
After her friend's passing, Kathy wrote a touching piece in the Los Angeles Times about dear, sweet Joan. "It is easy to admire that Joan was still working at 81. What was unparalleled was that at 81, she was the first woman in history to have three shows on at one time (a reality show, a cable fashion show and a Web talk show). She wasn't just working at 81; she approached every performance like a shotgun," she wrote.
She went on to say, "To see her do stand-up at 81—and an audience did, just the night before she underwent that procedure—was to witness a committed stand-up on a mission to make you laugh."
And now, Kathy will be joining our E! family as a new host of Fashion Police, along with celebrity stylist and TV personality Brad Goreski. While Joan will always be in our hearts and absolutely never forgotten, we are excited for Kathy's debut on Fashion Police beginning Monday, January 12, 2015 with Golden Globes coverage. She is sure to share some never-before-heard stories about Joan, don't you think?
