What a shock—Lupita Nyong'o had our favorite look from last night's MTV Movie Awards. Leave it to Lupita to constantly change things up, this time giving us retro metallic cat-eye makeup matched with a glossy chocolate red lip.

What makes this look so genius? The Oscar-winning actress wore a dress that contained every color of the rainbow, and instead of choosing one of the colors from her dress or going for the conventional boring black, she opted for a fun metallic.

Celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose created Lupita's makeup look with all Lancôme products and said that he was aiming for "sparkly, disco-inspired eyes." Mission accomplished!

Get the Look: Start by prepping skin with an oil-free primer that will help mattify and camouflage fine lines and pores, like Lancôme Visionnaire [1 Minute Blur]. Then, if your skin is prone to oiliness like Lupita's, follow with a foundation that will give you a matte finish without looking powdery, like Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H in 550 Suede.

Once foundation is set, using a concealer brush or your ring finger, apply a liquid, light-reflecting concealer like Lancôme Maquicomplet Concealer in Deep Suede under eyes to hide any dark circles and puffiness. Tip: Never rub the delicate skin under the eyes. Always apply eye cream and makeup using a patting or tapping motion.

Again, if you're prone to oiliness, set makeup by applying a powder like Lancôme Dual Finish Powder in 560 Suede to your T-zone (or entire face, depending on where you tend to get oily) with a powder brush or makeup sponge. Tip: Slip the compact and a makeup sponge into your handbag for mid-evening touch-ups.

Next, using a blush brush, apply a dark peach blush like Lancôme Blush Subtil in Shimmer Tamarind to the apples of your cheeks. Pull the blush brush upwards towards your temples to give your face an extra lift.

Complete face makeup by applying a shimmering highlighting powder like from the Lancôme Star Bronzer Palette to the tops of cheekbones and along the brow bone.

To get Lupita's retro metallic eyes, after prepping eyes with primer or concealer, use a small makeup brush dipped in a silver cream eye shadow like Lancôme Color Design Infinité 24H in Unlimited Silver to outline a cat-eye shape (use photo as a guide). Then fill in the shape with the cream eye shadow. Tip: Clean up the shape and make the lines look perfect by using a Q-tip soaked in makeup remover to create the final shape.

To add a three-dimensional effect to the eye, use an eyeliner brush to apply a silver powder eye shadow like Lancôme Color Design in All that Glitters to the inner corners of the eyes and along the lower lash lines.

Give eyes more definition by lining the upper lash lines with a black liquid liner like Lancôme Artliner 24H in Black Diamond. Make the line thicker as you get towards the outer corners and finish by flicking the applicator upwards towards the outer corners of your eyebrows. Complete the eye makeup by applying two to three coats of your favorite volume-building mascara.

To copy Lupita's pucker, after exfoliating lips line and fill-in entire lip area with a brown lip liner like Lancôme Le Lipstique in Sheer Chocolate Lancome. Then, using a lipstick brush, apply a glossy burnt red lip lipstick like Lancôme L'Absolu Rouge in Saffron Silk

We really hope it isn't going to take an award show to get Lupita on the red carpet. Doesn't Lupita know we count on her to set the makeup trends? She can't just leave us waiting until next year! What will we do? If you're reading this Lupita…no pressure, but if someone finds us practically catatonic rocking in a corner chanting, "Lupita, Lupita, Lupita," it's on you.
