Lloyd Bishop/NBCLea Michele is making us wonder if there should be a Real Housewives of New Jersey spin-off: Real Sweet Sixteen Guests of New Jersey? The title is a tad long, but this look has reality TV written all over it.
We know the Glee star has jersey roots of her own, which somewhat explains her choosing this Roberto Cavalli creation. Chances are she wore something slightly more "Rachel Berry" to her own special sophomore year birthday party, but there were a few bitties at our own '90s era bash in something dangerously similar to this dress.
For us, it's the short length and straight cut that make this particularly teen-like. The black triangle contrasts on the sides are slimming and modern, but the swirly silver pattern across the front reminds us of something we'd find at the old 5-7-9 (remember that place??).
Granted, if our 16-year-old selves saw 16-year-old Lea in this look we'd be wildly jealous. Which might explain our reaction to it today... Apparently, the one thing that lasts longer than high school fashion is high school jealousy.
