It's the summer trend that never died! Midriff-baring has taken on a whole new style life for cold-weather braving stars

And you thought showing off a major portion of your stomach skin was limited to warm weather months... We all know celebrities exist in a world where temperature doesn't matter! They'll wear whatever trend is at the top of the style charts come freezing cold winds or midriff goosebumps!

We've compiled a list of our favorite winter belly-barers from Miranda Kerr in winter white and Miley Cyrus in gawdy gold (with a giant fur coat!) to Kerry Washington in the bravest belly shirt of all time!

The Victoria's Secret model received recent high marks for her high-waisted skirt and mini shirt combo. The lace Jenni Kayne skirt is nice and thick as any February wear should be, and there's only a small sliver of skin showing, making this a safer choice than most. Our only issue: she looks like a scantily clad nurse.

The "Wrecking Ball" singer has been a key contributor to the cropped everything craze, so it's not a surprise she wore a tiny top for her New Year's Eve performance. It's also no surprise that the blonde's look was covered in gold sequins and worn with a full length fur making Miley more of a Liberace impersonator than a pop star...

Here, the future Mrs. Kayne West shows us a cropped top with an equally "cropped" neckline. We know it's not as cold in Los Angeles, but this pale pink combo is still a little too Easter Sunday for the Christmas season, even if it is 75 and sunny in Hollywood.

Ladies, this is how you transition a look into the next season, and beyond! Jessica Biel's Giambattista Valli combo is chic black (winter's best color), thick fabric (in a sexy floral lace), and as covered up as a short shirt gets (bravo, girl).

But the prize in this category easily goes to one Kerry Washington for rocking the very first black tie maternity midriff look! This Prada combo may be strange, but we commend the Scandal star for boldly going where no celebrity has gone before, winter or not. Plus, even if it was cold, the extra baby weight keeps her nice and warm.

We don't see this trend slowing any time soon but we're pleased that for the most part, the full-on bra tops are in the closet for safe keeping until summer.
