Was the Mother Monster's scary style inspired by a famous Disney villain?

Seeing Lady Gaga in this black, leather gown brought us right back to those nightmares we used to have about the dark-clad villain from Sleeping Beauty. Maleficent was the meanest and scariest Disney witch/sorcerer/devil of them all, but she had the most fabulous wardrobe, even if it did give us bad dreams for a decade.

We can only assume that was the "Dope" singer's inspiration for this insane attire, which she's wearing to the airport, by the way. Maybe she heard that the Angelina Jolie movie Malificent is just around the corner and wanted out-evil her before the big premiere?

The truth is, we have no idea what makes the "Applause" singer tick. This woven-front leather look is no where near the weirdest thing she's ever worn. In fact, the single-colored palette and lack of giant head piece makes it almost boring by Gaga standards. We can't quite tell where her arms are inside this look, but that's about as strange as it gets.

We're actually hoping this is just the first piece in her eventual collection of Disney villain costumes—mostly because we can't wait to see her version of Ursula.
