We've got to give Maria Sharapova credit for one thing: she knows what style works on her body.

The tennis pro stepped out on a recent red carpet in what can only be described as the cocktail dress equivalent of a tennis onesie. If this David Koma design was in a simple black or white it would be the perfect uniform for the U.S. Open. The crew neck keeps everything on top in check, and that flirty little ruffled skirt is exactly what Maria typically wears to serve in style.

But since this Russian beauty is wearing her look on the red carpet not the green court, we have to judge accordingly. The fit may flaunt her perfect figure, but we're not so sure about the shiny fabric or crazy black pattern. It has a certain wet suit meets club dress feel.

Frankly, we prefer Maria in a polo shirt and tennis skirt over this look any day. What's your say?
