We love that Jennifer Lawrence got into character at the Catching Fire trailer debut at Comic-Con this past weekend with her wispy bangs, braided updo and sultry eye makeup. We could easily see Katniss rock this look for a Capitol team dinner (of course her beauty team may have insisted on a bit more sparkle), or perhaps this would have been a new braided look for the games.

Don't get us wrong—we've loved watching Jennifer flaunt her Dior status (she's the new face of Dior handbags) these past several months in sleek blond locks and bright lipsticks. But, nothing makes us happier than seeing the Hunger Games' star in her Katniss Everdeen dark braided hair and bronzy makeup.

Get the Look: Good news—the intricate braided updo is easier than it looks! Start by working through a texturizing paste or cream through your damp hair to give it grip. We like using Redken Rewind-06 Pliable Styling Paste because it gives flexible hold without making the hair look shiny.

Blow-dry your hair with your fingers—tousling and messing up as you go, giving roots a lift with your fingertips. Don't forget, you're going for texture so put away the brushes and flat irons. You want your hair to look messy!

Next, separate 4-5 one-inch sections of your hair along your hairline and secure them with elastics. Take the rest of your hair and finger-comb it back into a low ponytail and secure with an elastic.

Then, start braiding every other separated section into a loose braid while wrapping it around the base of the ponytail and securing with a bobby pin. Create twists out of the remaining sections and also wrap them around the base of the ponytail.

Now, braid the ponytail (don't worry, if it's not perfect. You want it to be messy) and wrap it around itself and pin it into a bun. Don't worry if loose strands escape—it's all part of the look.  Finish by coating the entire look with hairspray to ensure your hair would survive any battle.

To get Jennifer's bronzy eye makeup, start by priming your entire eye area with concealer and/or a neutral-colored eye shadow. Then, use a black gel eyeliner to create a thick line along your upper lash line from the outer corner to where your eyeball ends. We like Chantecaille Gel Liner Pencil in Jet since it gives you the same texture and long wear of a gel but in the ease of a pencil applicator.

Next, give your eyelids a little lift by applying a matte brown like MAC eye shadow in Espresso in the creases and creating a V-shape with the outer corners of your eyes. To give your eyes the Katniss bronzy bling, apply a shimmery bronze eye shadow like NYX in Deep Bronze with a flat eyeliner brush to your lower lash line and the inner upper lash line and blend.

Then take a domed eyeshadow brush and swipe a sheer layer of the bronze eye shadow over your crease to give an extra sparkle. Add 2 coats of non-clumping, ultra-black, volumizing mascara like MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky Extravagant Mascara.

Finish this look by painting your pucker with a light pink lip gloss like Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Snow Pink.  Voila! You're ready to compete in the games.  May the makeup and hair gods be ever in your favor… (Translation: don't let it rain!)
