The first thing we thought when we saw Demi Lovato's latest look was, "Wow! This girl needs new mascara." Demi is beautiful, but we're worried that if she had blinked, her lashes would clump together like Venus flytraps and she'd need cuticle scissors to pry them apart.

The "Heart Attack" songstress is also taking the bold brows trend a bit too far. Defining your brows with a bit of powder and pencil is one thing, but morphing them into caterpillar brows is just plain unflattering (especially when your hair is a much lighter color).

Speaking of hair, we have to admit we were disappointed with Demi's matronly ‘do. This is a young woman who's always wowed us with modern pompadours and sexy loose curls! Since her hair is thick, this layered look needs curls or waves when worn down. The blown out, "feathered" layers just scream "Suburban Mom" instead of "Pop Star Goddess."

Beauty Bailout: First of all, Demi should use a large barrel curling iron to curl two-inch sections of her blown-out hair. Next, she should use her fingers to separate and shake out the curls. And then, to make sure the loose curls last, she should spray her locks with a non-sticky, strong hold hairspray like Dove Style+Care Hairspray, Strength and Shine, Flexible Hold

As for the clumpy lashes, if you've fallen victim to tarantulashes, there are easy steps you can take to avoid future attacks: (1) Make sure you wipe your mascara wand off on a tissue before application. This removes loose clumps. (2) Starting at the base of your lashes, wiggle the wand left and right as you pull it up through the lashes. (3) Use an eyelash comb or a disposable mascara wand to separate the lashes. (4) Make sure you renew your mascara at least every 4-6 months.

Once the tarantulalashes are tamed, it's time to tone down the brows. We love bold brows, but using brow makeup that is too thick and dark—especially if you have light hair—makes the brows stand out too much.

You should always make sure you're using an eyebrow pencil that exactly matches your eyebrow hair color (like Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil, which comes in six different shades).  Then, use the pencil in upward diagonal strokes mirroring the direction that your brow hair naturally grows. To complete the look, use an eyebrow brush to blend the pencil by brushing upwards.

In People's Most Beautiful Issue, Demi proved that she's in a small group of celebs that look absolutely stunning without a stitch of makeup. We just wish she'd let those beautiful features shine by exterminating the spider lashes and leaving the conservative hair for the suburbs.
