We remember the first time that burnt orange burned up the fashion scene in the mid-to-late 1980's. The colors arrival marked a shift in ‘80s fashion, from neon and rubber bracelets to a more muted, almost too safe approach to ready-to-wear.
Well, whatever that pumpkin-like shade once was, the 2012 burnt orange is anything but humdrum. In fact, it may be made out of an edible substance that smells like honey and attracts garden gnomes.
Exhibit A: Socialite and reality star Olivia Palermo, who conquers more than one fashion risk as she heads to the Mulberry fashion show in London.
Between her Current/Elliott tuxedo pants in black and burgundy, the updated ladies-who-lunch pumps, the oversized Mulberry print tote and that fabulously complex cable sweater, we weren't sure at first that anyone could pull off this look. After all, it's a lotta fashion. But Palermo, we gotta admit, rocks it from top to toe.
Unless, of course, we are completely wrong. What do you think of Palermo's chancy togs: Gotta Have It or Make It Stop?
