Good fashion vs. bad fashion: It's usually not as simple as black and white. But when it comes to deciding which of Kate Hudson's most recent looks is best, that's exactly what we're dealing with: black vs. white!

Check out these two sleek dresses, worn by the actress to promote her latest flick at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Hudson wore the black, cocktail-length Emilio Pucci for a photocall, adding extra pop with a pair of fabulous green Louboutins and some funky Dana Rebecca earrings.

For a more formal red carpet appearance, the 33-year-old stunner chose a body-hugging Alexander McQueen with structured shoulders that recall a stripped-down Thierry Mugler. (Who can forget his 1997 Insect Woman, which is still influencing folks to this day?)

Now: Time to kick it back to you, Joan Rangers! Which Kate Hudson look is better? Sound off in the comments!
