Poor Hilary Swank, one minute you're a two-time Academy Award winner and the next you fall off the radar because of some unfortunate human rights scandal.

Things aren't exactly looking up for the 37-year-old, who wore this mishmash of a plum dress, black clutch and matching belt all care of the Ferragamo Pre-Fall 2012 collection. Satin heels completed the look though, to be honest, we could've done without…

The fishnets, which felt like overkill considering the heavy draping on the bottom of the dress and the fishnet cutout on top—it was just too much.

Maybe Swank was trying to dress the part of someone's muse, as she wore the outfit in Paris to a Salvatore Ferragamo art event. It was held at the Louvre on Tuesday in honor of their latest exhibition, "The Saint Anne, Leonardo da Vinci's Ultimate Masterpiece." The show will be sponsored exclusively by Feragamo and promises to showcase over 130 works from da Vinci.

Feragamo should have told Hilary to work on a more coy Mona Lisa smile—and style—before making her the face of this new exhibit.
